Mistolin for you and for me. baby.

Every few months I travel to New York for work and I have a habit of stopping in to every bodega on the block. Why? Not because I am looking for that special porn mag with a cover of Lindsy Lohan, not because I need to buy yet another pack of fruit flavored trident gum and not even for the wonderful service I receive by the toothless man behind the counter with the unwanted glances at my lower regions, No, no, none of that. (although, if you know where I can get said porno mag, you need to hit a girl up) It is because of this wonderful product that Fabulouso can't even touch. It's the powdery scented cleaning product called Mistolin, in baby scent. Now in every other bodega you can find floral, lavender, gardenia, and apple. But NEVER EVER baby scent!!!

I became addicted to this stuff about five years ago when traveling to NYC on the spread the dread tour with Sonia Peterson (R.I.P.).  For some reason this stuff seems to be only on the coasts of our wonderful country, so I know I can usually pick a bottle or two up in the lower east side of Manhatten. But in the last two or three years this stuff has become as scarce as a Obama/Biden sticker on a suburban trophy wife's SUV. Seriously, when you use this all purpose wonder in your home you will be wisked away to another time when running around without pants on and putting different body parts in your mouth was totally acceptable. I'm not joking, it was seriously the biggest and best purchase I have made in the big apple since, idono, since, maybe that Liquid Silk I get from Toys In Babeland. (Which I still have to snatch up every time. No pun intended.)

Well, last week I came upon a pleasant surprise, I was crouching down in hopes to catch a peek at the cleaning products in this special bodega on Ludlow St. , very close to Kropps and Bobbers (the salon I work out of when in town) and I got lucky people. I saw the familiar pinky purple tinted solution with the happy little ducky on the front. I actually giggled out loud and started clapping like a two year old!! (this stuff has magic powers I swear!) I grabbed their whole stock, only five, it must be a popular scent. There was at least twenty of every other scent, I couldn't have been happier!!! I didn't even think about the trouble this was going to cause when we got the luggage to the airport with the weight restrictions and bag limits. We came in at exactly 49.9 lbs, *phew* luckily I didn't have to give up any of my "babys". I don't know what I would have done if it had come to that. Maybe throw out those hot Japanese thigh high boots I bought in china town. Naw..... well maybe.

Why is this stuff so amazing? Let me count the ways.... at 99 cents a bottle, you can use it on your hardwood floors, you can use it on your counters, you can use it in your tub, and my all time favorite; you can even use it in your laundry! I am pretty fucking excited people. There is nothing better than walking into your baby fresh home after a long day of work surrounded by smelly adults. Now your home too can smell as fresh as a baby's bottom! Now what can we do about your co-workers. Hmm... Secret has come out with something haven't they??
Until next time. xo- M

Junko Mizuno + Fornarina = L♡VE!!!

SOOOOOOOO......

I don't know if all yall know about this yet. But,
Junko Mizuno
(my fav. artist) has teamed up with Fornarina (my fav. design label) and have come out with some new cute clothes, shoes, bags and accessories featuring her art for their fall/winter 2008 line. Um,
*drool*
.

I am hoping that our local store
Lava Lounge
located in uptown Minneapolis will be carrying the line. Although I haven't had the chance to check it out as of yet. I know that Fornarina's items aren't always easy on the checkbook so I will stay away for a bit longer, but I don't think I will be able to hold off for long. OMFG... please. They made this line just for girls like me after all. ^_^

Long time no see..

f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f
 Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y

So, yes it has been a long time. Things happen, dreams form into reality and some die. Well, my friends. Things have happened and some dreams did die. I'm sure this sounds very melodramatic to some, but this is the reality of this merry go round we call life.

I am talking about my fashion show. It has changed many times, a few venues, a couple names, and once I thought I had it locked down it just took one irrational person to knock it off of its carefully built platform. Any one of you out there that reads this who really know me know who this lunatic is. But I am not naming names, that would be completely ridiculous. And D R A M A T I C. People.... I have had enough of this said drama. I am finished with it.

My life right now will consist of happiness and carefree thoughts. I am still planning on having a show but it will not be until spring or early early fall. I also am working on a possible halloween masquerade that will be held a a certain downtown location.... stay posted.

I am actually making progress, I think....

Yes all. Things are moving. I finally have a date for my fashion show, and a name. It has changed. It has shifted. We are now "Couture Noir" instead of "Electro Couture Culture", at least for the moment. Maybe it will stay that way... we will all see, wont we?? The show will be held at Sound Bar in the warehouse district of Minneapolis on October 30th.  It will AMAZE you! I hope. ^-^

I am actually holding myself hostage this weekend, other than a small venture to see Mama Mia with my own mother on sunday and maybe a trip to the dog park with Jasmine the dog, that is all!! I will be drafting, sewing, cutting, and draping. Just ordered some amazing new studs to put on my garments. I can't wait!!!

SOOOOO, if any of you feel like playing with fabric and other pretty sparkly things and creating with me, you are welcome to join. As long as you don't distract me, I have had plenty of that so far... thank you very much. You know where I'll be. xo-M

Can I get off of the ride now??

Vertigo, or dizziness, refers to the sensation of spinning (subjective vertigo) or the perception that surrounding objects are moving or spinning (objective vertigo). Some patients describe a feeling of being pulled toward the floor or toward one side of the room. Moving the head, changing position, and turning while lying down often worsen vertigo.

 OK, yes. I have this.

Look at the picture for a second and you might get a small sample of what I'm going through.

This has happened to me before, a few years ago. I saw 2-3 doctors a week for 3 months with no answer to what was causing this horrid experience. I was poked, prodded, pushed, and scanned. Nothing. I even had a doctor tell me he thought I was pregnant. LOL. Too funny, and sad. Now this time this experience has come back to me as mysteriously as it had went away last time.

Nothing helps. No sleep, no food, no drug, or even meditation. I wish it was a simple as anemia or lack of sleep or even stress. Nothing,  no thing helps. It makes me want to die a little. I feel like I have a right to complain.

Also, the worst part of this, I have to work. I CUT hair. And 3 days ago, also CUT neck. Really. For the first time in my hairstyling career I have cut a client and caused them to bleed! I almost died. It's not like I can say, "Oh, sorry. It's just this constant spinning I'm going through that makes it so hard for me to cut straight!" I would lose my clients and my job. Even writing this here is a little risky. For all of you out there that come in and see me at the Hairpolice, don't fret. I take my time, and try really hard to focus. I just wish the spinning would take some time off when I have to make the money I have to spend on my $2000 insurance deductible to try and figure this sich out. Argh. Please let me off now, I don't feel so good. ----------------M

where is your head at?

Love the life you're in. Not just the life you dream about.

I do. I live by this.
I love my job, my house, my girlfriend, even my car. I do.
Not saying you shouldn't try to improve yourself.
That would be the complete opposite way of thinking.
We all have dreams, goals, hopes and paths. Work into the right direction.
You never know when you will go.
So don't take your life for granted.
When your moment is up, it's up.
Use every opportunity that has come your way, but don't step on people in the process.
Improve, care and love yourself.
You are you right now too.

Make no mistake about it.
This is now. This is life. This is you, who you are.
You are amazing.
You are beautiful.
You have succeeded so far.
Applaud yourself for this.
Don't forget where you were and who you were 2 years ago.
And don't forget who you are now 2 more years from now.

And this last piece of advice I have to offer is so important. I need to listen too.
Remember:
Green, Yellow, Red, Blue.
You GO in life and make your way,
But when you YEILD in life for a moment, your moment passes.
Then you STOP and end the momentum.
Now you have become HANDICAPPED.

Good night dreamers. I am heading there too.
