The bestest best ever.

I am feeling a bit better today because my bff Sheila and two glasses of wine have put me toward the path of recovery. (last night) This girl is amazing people. Seriously. She is always smiling and laughing... even when she is stressed out. She can always make me smile. I meant to write about my day, but I decided I would write about pretty much the most genuine friend a girl could have. I love her soooooooooooo much. Wow, I'm gushing. ^_^ This is for you She-she. I would be lost without you sista'! xoxoxoxoxo

I suppose I should write something...

But friends, my mind has taken over my body. My brain is frozen into a nightmare feeling that rushes through my veins. It tires me. It sickens me. I wish I was that cloud today... I do. I can't pinpoint where this all came from, it's a compilation of sadness, anxiety, trouble, and pain. It's everything going on and nothing at all.

I am loved and in love and yet that can't sew up my open wounds. What can? I have tried relaxing, naps, yoga, food, music, alone time, pills (prescription), cuddles, kitties, movies, puppies, wine, video games, friends, and everything else in between. The only thing that made me feel nearly normal was cleaning and laughter. So strange. I think I need to get a "few" things done. And by a few I mean A MILLION! It's killing me from the inside out. No more avoidance. I have to do it now.

I have promised you that I would provide music inspiration. So I will link you to something that suits my mood. Its
Mazzy Star
. If you haven't heard of them, then you need to listen to it now. She is amazing. The song "In to dust" is my mood at the moment. I wish I was just dust. It's done today. DONE.

Today... Thursday June 12th

Now, ok. As promised I will be sharing with you some new music to enjoy for yourself. I have been listening to a few things lately. One of which is Farah, I really enjoy the Law Of Life song from the 2007 album, Italians do it better (they do).

AND.... a few things that have happened in the last few days. I don't think I will be going with First Avenue this year for the E.C.C.. They were and are simply way too unorganized and unprofessional for me to deal with at the moment. This is coming from little scattered me... that is pretty bad. I am talking to a few other venues for my presentation. Either way, it is still going to happen and be SICK!

I have shown Kristen a few samples of artwork to inspire her to stylize my logo a little different. This is what she has come up with so far :

It's a little better I would have to say. She is adding a few more things in the hair and such and I think then it will be perfecto.

Yesterday Jess and I had a wonderful day even in the midst of stormy weather. I am so lucky to have a great girl around that knows how to keep me smiling! - ok thats it for today. ttys.

I am teaching myself a little html today...

I was scrolling online to try and find some pictures for inspiration for my logo which at the moment looks like this, and I came upon some serious artwork. P.S. my graphic designer friend
Kristen
is designing a few logos for me, but this one turned out to be too cute. I need kawaii-noir, not just kawaii. We are working on it still, this is an early draft. OOOH! I am so excited for my newfounded htmling... gonna use it all of the time!

Anyways, anyways.... here are a few pictures I found that I absolutely LOVE.

This one is from Kukula

And of course, Miss Van

I don't think I even have to mention how much I love Junko Mizuno

I can't wait to see what new image we will come up with. -ok... that's about it for now.

today... sunday June 8th.

not much happened today.

-woke up next to the hottest girl (I still thought I was dreaming)
-made breakfast for us both, omelettes and french toast
-got ready and went to Hairpolice to do up my roomies hair!
-got home, cleaned, made myself some soy hotdogs and greenbeans
-and waited for my adorable GF to return so we could get movies and snug it up

still waiting to hear from First Avenue, it's causing a little too much anxiety at this point. I keep waking up out of dead sleep worrying about it.
actually, I think I need to force myself to set up my sewing space in my basement right now. i need something to change.
this is what i was talking about, self motivation.
-inspiration
-movement
these are things i need.
that is what i am going to do.
NOW.

p.s. the photo is another piece of inspiration, i need more more more.

cute stuff....

So yesterday I was minding my own business and cooking Jess and I some mock beef and yellow peppers and broccoli over brown mushroom fried rice. (which was okay... but I don't think I will be making that dish again for awhile) And then the next thing you know I see this little paper airplane fly in to the left of me. I took this as Jess just being her normal playful self and said " Oh, so now you're throwing things at me?" . Then I decided to reach over and pick it up because I thought I saw writing on it. ( I assumed it was whatever I had scribbled on my note pad about what to buy for groceries) Well, it said "unfold me" and to my surprise I found this:

I immediately smiled at such a sweet gesture, and wondered why I would ever expect anything less from such a thoughtful and amazing person! Of course I checked the yes box and wrote in a little "please" under it. So now it's official, I actually have a really great honest to goodness girlfriend. AND this one my friends, will not be sleeping with my best friend. I know I have nothing to worry about and neither does she!! Hey baby, if you're reading this, don't blush too much, you're so wonderful that I have to share it with the world. And, I am the lucky one!! xoxo -Mackenzie

New Blog... New Life...

Well, Hello there all! I was playing on the internet yesterday and decided that I wanted to start a little life/fashion/music blog!!  I wonder if what I have to share will be of any interest of you, but either way I am mostly doing this for myself. As a form of motivation, or inspiration. A way to check in with myself if you will.

So I guess I will start with what I have been listening to recently, if you haven't heard of them yet, you should check them out. They are called The Artificial Limbs . You can find them on myspace @ http://www.myspace.com/theartificiallimbs . I will try and put up some new music on here at least once a week if possible.

I am starting to slowly plan out my fashion show again for this fall; Electro Couture Culture. Although, First Avenue isn't really very good on getting back to me about booking the date. Elizabeth (my fashion show partner)said that she ran into the booking agent a few weeks ago and he said it's something about his personal life that is keeping him from doing his job. I don't really care. I just need this show to get up and running, ASAP!! I might actually lose my mind if something doesn't happen within a few days. I'll be stalking the front door and singing annoying songs into the intercom system until they let me in. Believe me, two months, four emails, and two phone calls should be enough for him to get back to me. It's not like they weren't excited about hosting us again, they are just being a little unprofessional about it. I'm over it.
